At the start of the 2023 season, Christmas Past hit a major milestone: its 2 millionth download!
I don’t often discuss the show’s stats, but this feels like it deserves a mention. Christmas Past is a tiny, one man show. I put out only a small handful of episodes per year, and people listen for only a few weeks out of the year. A typical year’s downloads look like this:
So, considering those limitations, 2 million downloads feels like it must be kind of a big deal!
I have no idea what kind of numbers other podcasts see — whether it’s an indie podcast like mine, or a bigger production. Maybe 2 million downloads is small change to the majority of established podcasts.
But what I do know is that hitting a milestone like this keeps me excited to continue creating Christmas Past. And it tells me that, eight seasons after starting, people think that what I’m creating is still worth listening to.
Thanks to all my listeners, old and new, for coming along for the ride to me. Your support means the world.
May your days be merry and bright!
